Photos of the Samsung NC20

Here you go – six photos of the beautiful Samsung NC20.

Looking at these you get a feel for the quality of the build, the finish, and – nicely for a 12″ laptop – just how thin Samsung have managed to get this little netbook.

You can see from this, the keyboard has actual full-sized keys. The screen offers the same magnificent quality Samsung packed into the NC10 – LED for extra battery life.

Samsung NC20 update & release information

Various web resources and online shops are claiming a release date of February 9th for the new Samsung NC20.   Considering this is just around the corner, Samsung have been pretty quiet about it, but from  what we have gathered so far the specs will be:

  • 12.1 inch LCD display
  • 1.3GHz VIA Nano U225 processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 160GB hard drive
  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • 3-in-1 card reader,
  • Ethernet /802.11b/g WiFi.

This specification seems pretty close to that of the NC10, the main differences are the screen is bigger,  The Nc20 is two inches larger at 12.1, while the NC10 is 10.1.

The processor, the NC20 uses 1.3GHz VIA Nano U225 processor, the NC10 has an Atom N270 running at 1.6GHZ.  Two different chips, but in comparisons both roughly having the same performance and capability.

So the NC20 is shapping up to be a similar performing machine to the NC10 but will be slightly larger in size.   This makes a lot of sense for Samsung and the customer.  The NC20 doesn’t kill NC10 sales but caters for those put off by the NC10’s smaller size.
