In Switzerland is already available in white:

http://it.nexxtdirect.ch/cms;digitalkameracamcorderscannerdvd;kernel.166;1.html?pid=f2284b246c0d20a671031e48dace3f94&xopt=2#pga

(706.95 chf + 23.90 shipping = 730.85 ~ 493.50 Euro ~ 630 USD with shipping).
(I have used toppreise.ch)

The price is good (for us) but I'm waiting for price drop/diffusion.

Unfortunately the keyboard layout is german (DE), and not Swiss german...

For the record, both of you who are saying it would be over $550 for an American to import it from the UK aren't taking account that you wouldn't have to pay the 17.5% VAT (value added tax) which most UK retailers include in the listed price. The typical current price VAT-free price of 360 pounds is $472 at the moment, for example. Shipping obviously depends upon the retailer, and no, many retailers won't ship it outside the UK.

Those of you who are so sure that it's coming to the US are kidding yourselves, though. It's on record in Amazon discussion threads and in the forum at Sammynetbook.com that Samsung is telling anyone who asks that there's no planned US release date. (Importantly they're very forthcoming about other dates, for example they've told people that they shipped their NC10 SE's to Amazon in the past week.) Samsung have usually kept their laptops UK-only, and it's unlikely they want to piss off Intel by releasing this 12" netbook (something Intel's done everything they can to forbid, not least of all crippling the Atom processor so that it can't power an LCD that size) here. Read up on that and then tell me what you're "sure" of.

I tried buying in the UK Amazon got rejected. I am considering eBay because the person selling it priced the netbook at $575+ and it is so tempting to buy. Then I got this queasy feeling that maybe the Samsung NC20 coming out here in the US will have Vista or Windows 7. Who knows....

Also, the part about the netbook having those programs is coming directly from the gut not an educated curiosity or thinking since I don't know exactly if it can support such programs in the first place. I just like the netbook because it is small, reasonably priced, lightweight, and have a long lasting battery compared to my 17" HP laptop.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for commenting.

At the moment a lot of suppliers still don't have the NC 20 in stock or they have ran out.

It will be interesting to see if anyone does buy from eBay at this price.

With the current exchange rate it will cost $560 plus the shipping it will be $600. And if you buy it from UK you won't have USA warranty. Noth worthy when it's about to come to USA soon. Samsung won't neglect one of its biggest market.

Why on earth would an American buy one on eBay? Plenty of UK retailers will presumably ship to the US, and the current exchange rate means the NC20 would cost LESS than Amazon's special edition NC10 for an American--under $500.
